The TURBO TEC

npi TURBO TEC systems are accurate and extremely fast voltage and current clamp (V/C) amplifiers for studying large membrane currents. They are based on the standard two electrode approach.

TEC amplifiers are ideal systems for recording from oocytes (TEC-03X, TEC-10CX) as well as for recordings from other excitable cells with relatively large membrane currents such as invertebrate neurons, muscle cells and neuromuscular junction
preparations (TEC-05X).

There is also a modular TEC version available.

TEC Series - Two Electrode Voltage and Current Clamp Amplifiers

npi TURBO TEC systems are accurate and extremely fast voltage and current clamp (V/C) amplifiers for studying large membrane currents. They are based on the standard two electrode approach. TEC amplifiers are ideal systems for recording from oocytes (TEC-03X, TEC-10CX) as well as for recordings from other excitable cells with relatively large membrane currents such as invertebrate neurons, muscle cells and neuromuscular junction preparations (TEC-05X). A special version for squid axon recordings (TEC-10SQ) is also available.
A significant improvement over other two electrode clamp amplifiers is that the TEC systems fully compensate the current injecting microelectrode and need NO virtual ground for recording membrane currents. In addition, a powerful PI (proportional-integral) voltage clamp controller and an improved series resistance compensation unit ensure accurate recording of very large voltage activated currents or even gating currents from whole oocytes.
TEC systems can also be operated with a reduced bandwidth of 10 Hz allowing simultaneous single-channel recordings with patch-clamp amplifiers.
Standard oocyte systems (TEC-03X, TEC-10CX) have an output voltage range of ±150 V. TEC-05X systems are operated at ±15 V output compliance. Other voltages ranges are available on request.
All systems include many automatic functions, protection circuits, versatile I/O signal conditioning units and digitally controlled operations. All of these features make TEC systems the ideal research instrument for all electrophysiological investigations that use medium and large cells.
